About Biosphere for Baltic
The Biosphere for Baltic project is an exchange of experience and knowledge between the Biosphere Reserves surrounding the Baltic Sea concerning measures for better water quality. At the same time, it highlights the Biosphere Reserves’ experiences in driving sustainable development through dialogue and collaboration. The project gives the Biosphere Reserves a unique opportunity to develop new areas for collaboration.

Biosphere for Baltic highlights the Biosphere Reserves’ contributions to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2030. Biosphere for Baltic focuses on two themes: Source to Sea, and Learning and Ocean Literacy. Both are of great importance for a sustainable Baltic Sea and for the implementation of Agenda 2030 SDG 14 – Life below water.

The project is coordinated by the Rich Wetlands of Kristianstad Biosphere Reserve and the Man & the Biosphere Programme in Sweden. Two network meetings and two workshops will be held during the course of the project. The meetings will be about measures from source to sea, marine education and knowledge dissemination.
