There are great opportunities for cultural experiences, recreational activities and explorations into nature in Hedemora.
The municipal nature reserve Stadssjön is a green oasis in the urban parts of the Hovran area. Hedemora Municipality is now investing heavily in making the reserve more accessible. You can walk or roll along the hiking trails straight through wetlands, experience the rainforest-like deciduous swamp forest, and look out over the open lakeside meadows full of grazing cows. From the newly built lookout tower, you have an amazing view of the beautiful landscape below. 

 

Culture

The Vasahallen sports hall and aquatic center, in combination with the artificial turf pitch and athletics facility Vasaliden Arena, make up the Southern Dalarna Sports Center. These facilities are an attractive destination for associations and schools, sports camps and other events. The sports center is centrally located within walking distance of the city center and its many restaurants, shops and other attractions.
There is also an ice rink in Hedemora that is well-suited not only for training camps but also for exhibitions, trade fairs, etc. Music also flourishes in Hedemora year round, with well-known and recurring concerts and other events.
